The Viability of alliance governance: An application of the Viable Alliance Model to enhance the cooperation and coordination in alliances

School research theme: Management of projects
Research supervisor: Dr Grant Mills and Dr Ilias Krystallis
Start date: September 2018

My research aims to apply the science of cybernetics particularly the viable system model to project alliances in attempt to provide a governance framework for organisations involved. The research combines three aspects of interorganisational relationships; mainly governance, cooperation and coordination. As such, I will be studying large complex projects looking at their interorganisational interactions in order to develop a framework for their governance through the viable alliance model (VAM). This will allow project organisation to assess the viability of alliances while maintaining an adaptable framework of governance.
