The Implacable March of Global Lab

4 March 2014

Global Lab Logo

CASA's podcast, The Global Lab, is expanding, with Hrishi Ballal, Thomas Oleron-Evans, Ed Manley, Panos Mavros and Stephan Hugel joining the team on this interview podcast. To celebrate, the team will relaunch an episode from the first two years of the podcast every day in March.

The Global Lab was set up by Martin Zaltz Austwick and Stephen Gray in 2011 with the help of a Beacon Bursary, and has also featured Hannah Fry, and Claire Ross of UCLDH on presenting duties. Nearly thirty interviews have included researchers from as far afield as Seattle and Manilla, on topics as diverse as Museums and the Web, census privacy, data journalism and the social life of bats. You can listen to the relaunched episodes at http://soundcloud.com/the-global-lab to hear the back catalogue.

Martin Zaltz Austwick and Hannah Fry are recipients of BEAMS Public Engagement Fellowships as part of the ESPRC Impact Accelaration Award. The Global Lab is part of a wider strategy to offer early-career researchers opportunities and training for public engagement and outreach, and embed these activities in research life and practice.
