Martin Zaltz Austwick wins Institutional leadership award at UCL

We are delighted to announce that our very own Dr Martin Zaltz Austwick has won the prestigious Provost's Public Engagement Award for Institutional Leadership 2016.

Martin was presented with the award by UCL President and Provost, Michael Arthur, who said "Dr Martin Zaltz Austwick, of the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, is a well-deserved winner of the Provost’s Leadership Award for Public Engagement. Martin is outstanding for both the breadth and depth of his engagement projects, connecting with community groups in East London and Camden and encouraging staff and students alike to contribute to community engagement projects through his strong example".  He added "The selection panel were impressed by the range and breadth of public engagement activities which Martin has undertaken and the catalyst role that he has played to encourage a culture of public engagement across CASA".

As well has his public engagement activities Martin is Programme Director of our MRes Spatial Data Science and Visualisation, leads Masters-level modules in Programming for Architecture and Design and co-leads modules in Digital Visualisation, as well as running tutorials in Morphogenetic Programming.  Since 2014 he has co-led BASc modules in Cities and Spatial Cultures and Digital Literacy and Data Visualisation and he is Associate Director of the UCL Centre for Digital Humanities.
