About

UCL East Saturday Club is a free weekly art and design workshop for Years 9,10 and 11 living and/or attending schools in the East of London. It offers participants the chance to sample different art and design classes from a wide range of creative disciplines which are not always available to them at school.

As well as being able to explore creative skills, participants gain lots of transferable skills, such as problem-solving, time planning, and learning the importance of working in a team. They will also be introduced to the many opportunities available across the creative industries as well as learning what it would be like to study creative subjects in sixth form and at university.

In March 2024, The Bartlett School of Architecture will lead a series of sessions that introduce students to architectural design methods, by asking them to respond to the local context. Students will learn about different approaches to architecture, promoting social and environmental awareness through collaborative design exercises, mini talks, and local campus visits. This is a unique opportunity to understand more about what it is like to study architecture at university, inspiring students to participate in the design of their built environment.
