Free weekly art and design workshops for Years 9,10 and 11 who live and/or go to school in the London boroughs of Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest.
UCL East Saturday Club is offering unique opportunities to experience 29 weeks of inspiring classes in the art and design subject areas. This is a great start to a creative journey, whether you aspire to illustrate, photograph, direct or design, this club will expose the vast opportunities this industry offers.
Workshops include portrait and landscape drawing, film and performance backdrops and photography. Using quality equipment, you'll be taught by specialist tutors from UCL Slade School of Fine Art and the Bartlett School of Architecture.
Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
As well as being able to explore creative skills, this is an opportunity to gain lots of transferable skills, such as problem-solving, time planning, and learning the importance of working in a team. Participants will also be introduced to the many opportunities available across the creative industries as well as learning what it would be like to study creative subjects in sixth form and at university.
