Undergraduate
Applications for our undergraduate programmes are made through UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. Please read our full undergraduate application guidance, which includes advice on interviews and portfolios, for more information.

Postgraduate
Applications for our postgraduate programmes are made directly to UCL. After navigating your way to the UCL online prospectus page for the programme you would like to enrol in, click on the blue Apply button. For information about postgraduate fees, please visit the UCL Postgraduate Fees, Costs and Funding page.
We welcome applications from all over the world, from students who want to gain a Master’s degree to change the world around them and understand the built environment in new ways. After submitting your application, for some programmes you will receive a request for a portfolio from our admissions team. Check out the entry requirements detailed on the programme page and if you are unsure what to include, contact our undergraduate admissions team.

Decide which programme you would like to study
Take your time browsing through our postgraduate programme pages, to make sure you might the right choice. Make sure to join us for one of our open days if you can.
Make sure you understand the entry requirements and that you have already met them or are likely to
Entry requirements are different for each of our programmes. Visit our programme pages to find details of the normal or typical entry requirements. Make sure to confirm which qualifications UCL accepts from other countries, and check UCL’s English Language proficiency requirements.
Check application deadlines
Application deadlines are detailed on each individual programme page. We would advise submitting your application as early as possible, as the admissions process can take several months and we make offers on a rolling basis.
Please also be aware that our programmes are oversubscribed so competition is high. The earlier we receive your application the better.
Submit your application online
Before you get started, it’s worth noting that you will need to supply the details of two referees who are able to comment on your suitability for the programme for which you are applying. Go to the UCL online prospectus page for the programme you would like to enrol in and click on the blue Apply button. Continue through to the UCL application checklist and into the online applications area. A transcript of results is also required with a certified translation in English if necessary.
Provide further details as required
If the programme you have applied to requests a portfolio, you will be emailed after you have submitted your application. Please do not send your work until requested. If needed, please upload an English language certificate if you have one, but this can also be sent at a later date.
Await a decision
You will be able to track the progress of your application via the UCL Applicants Portal. An email will be sent to you telling you how to log on to the UCL Applicants Portal after you have submitted your form.
Decisions will be made as soon as possible, however at certain points in the year the decision may take longer due to the high volume of applications we receive. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact bartlett.pgclerk@ucl.ac.uk.
