Performance Interactions is a weekly lecture series that focuses on robotics, machine learning and curation. Lectures take place every Monday.
This series is organised by Ruairi Glynn, Programme Director of Design for Performance & Interaction MArch.
Speaker biography
Irini Papadimitriou is a curator, cultural manager and Creative Director of FutureEverything, an innovation lab and arts organisation in Manchester. Previously, she was Digital Programmes Manager at the V&A Museum, where she initiated and curated the annual Digital Design Weekend festival and Digital Futures, among other programmes.
Her display, Artificially Intelligent, was exhibited at the V&A in 2018, and confronted humanity’s complex relationships with technology and AI, invisible technological infrastructures and boundaries of humanness.
Irini has been a co-curator for the Arts & Culture experience at Mozilla Festival, and in October 2019 she co-curated an exhibition on Better Machine Decision Making. She is also a co-founder of Maker Assembly, a critical gathering about maker culture, an Associate at IWM Institute, and she has been a recipient of curatorial research programmes such as MOBIUS (Finnish Institute), Art Fund, Mondriaan Fonds and British Council.
