Upsetting inequality?  An analysis of Bachelet’s Higher Education Reforms in Contemporary Chile

Supervisors:

Dr Néstor Castañeda and Dr David Hope (KCL)

Funding:

My studies are funded by a scholarship from Becas Chile.

My research project aims to study the relationship between inequality and democracy from a political science perspective, focusing on why governments face impediments to achieve egalitarian reforms in democracies with high levels of inequality. To address this question I am interested in studying the policymaking of higher education reforms in Chile during Michelle Bachelet’s second government (2014-2018).
