The UCL Institute of the Americas is part of the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences. We are recognised as a centre of excellence in the UK for students and researchers seeking to develop in-depth knowledge of the Americas. Interdisciplinary teaching and research is valued, 

The Instutute offers study programmes at undergraduate, masters and doctoral level.

The Institute's ongoing histoircal research is principally focussed on nineteenth-, twentieth-, and twenty-first-century history while its social science research is centered on politics, human rights, globalisation, development policy, and environmental sociology. interdisciplinary perspectives on gender, 'race' and ethnicity inform our work.

The Institute runs a busy schedule of free-to-attend research events presented not only by members of the Institute but also by others from across UCL and beyond  to promote research and debate on all aspects of the culture and society of the Americas.
