Patricio Simonetto's article awarded prize by international professional association

We are delighted to report that Dr Patricio Simonetto is one of the co-recipients of the 2021 Premio Monsiváis for Best Article in the Social Sciences, presented by the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) Sexualities Studies Section, for his article, 'La otra internacional. Prácticas globales y anclajes nacionales de la liberación homosexual en Argentina y México (1967-1984)' ('The Other Internationale. Global Practices and National Anchors of Homosexual Liberation in Argentina and Mexico (1967-1984)')

The Latin American Studies Association (LASA) is the largest professional association in the world for individuals and institutions engaged in the study of Latin America. With over 13,000 members, over 60% of whom reside outside the United States, LASA is the one association that brings together experts on Latin America from all disciplines and diverse occupational endeavors, across the globe.

Dr Patricio Simonetto

Patricio Simonetto is a Doctor in Social Sciences and Humanities (Quilmes National University, Argentina). He is the author of 'Between Injury and Revolution. The Frente de Liberación Homosexual in Argentina' ['Entre la injuria y la revolución. El Frente de Liberación Homosexual en la Argentina'] (2017) and 'Money is not everything. The purchase and sale of sex in Argentina in the 20th century' ['El dinero no es todo. La compra y venta de sexo en la Argentina del siglo XX'] (2019). He is currently Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at University College London - Institute of the Americas.
