10 May 2021
We are delighted to announce the successful PhD examination of our student David Gomez. The examiners praised the originality of the thesis, its thorough excavation of a huge source base, and its contribution not only to the historiography of Belize but also to our understanding of British imperialism in the region more broadly.
The title of David's thesis is 'Canals and Borders: Economic Diplomacy and the Belize Territorial Dispute, 1845-1865'. David worked under the supervision of Dr Kate Quinn and Dr Néstor Castañeda.
Warm congratulations are in order!
