University-led Teacher Training

UCL offers teacher training in a range of subjects across all age phases of education. UCL arranges school placements for these programmes. See below for information. All programmes can be found in the drop down fields below.

School Direct (Salaried)

School Direct (Salaried) is an employment-based route into teaching at both primary and secondary levels for graduates with at least three years’ work experience. Participating schools are allocated a set number of student-teacher places and your application through UCAS will go to the relevant school.

School Direct (Tuition Fee)

School Direct (Tuition Fee) is a school-led route into teaching at both primary and secondary stages. On this route you will join other student teachers on one of the PGCE programmes at the IOE while undertaking your teaching experience in a participating school. The UCAS application will go to the relevant school.
