Cancer Communication & Screening

cancer-communication-screening

The Cancer Communication & Screening research group has expertise in understanding uptake of cancer screening (focusing on colorectal and cervical screening), communication and decision-making in screening, measuring patient experiences, and assessing knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about cancer. Core funding for the group comes from a Cancer Research UK programme grant which aims to use psychological theory to inform effective public health strategy. Funding for other projects and studentships comes from Cancer Research UK, NIHR, MRC, Eve Appeal, and the NHS Cancer Screening Programmes.

Together with the Epidemiology of Cancer Healthcare & Outcomes research group, the Cancer Communication & Screening group run the BSH Cancer screening, help-seeking and prevention PubMed Commons Journal Club.
