Platt Prizes

Founded in 1937 by the will of Mrs Mildred Barham Platt in memory of her husband, Professor J. A. Platt, Professor of Greek at the College, 1894-1925

  1. One or more Platt Prizes may be awarded in each session.

  2. The Prizes are awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

  3. The Prizes are awarded to students in the Honours Class in Greek.

  4. Each Prize takes the form of books to the value of £15.

  5. No application is necessary.

  6. The qualifications of candidates are considered by the Head of the Department of Greek.

  7. The award is announced in July.

  8. Awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations.
