Things To Do Over Easter

UCLU’s Volunteering Services Unit have activities you can get involved with over Easter and beyond, including lots of one-off volunteering events. These include environmental conservation days, fundraising events, tea dances for older people and other charity events. Have a look at the VSU’s ‘Get Happy - Get Involved’ pages for information on how volunteering can improve your well-being and to find out how to get started.

You can also visit the UCLU What’s On Guide for details of other events scheduled over the Easter period.

There will be many religious activities over Easter including ‘The Passion of Jesus’, a 90-minute play re-enacting the events of Good Friday in Trafalgar Square being performed on Good Friday. Student Funding

There is lots of information and useful links on the Student Funding website to assist you during the Easter break.

We continue to bring awareness of Phishing scams to students, urging them not to reveal their personal details on-line. Students are often targeted with phishing e-mails around student finance payment dates. You should ignore messages that tell you to ‘validate their account’ or provide any personal, security or banking details.

The Student Loans Company will never ask you for information in this way. Top tips on how you can safeguard your funds is available at the Student Loans Company online safety site. Further instructions are also provided if you believe you have received any communication that is suspicious, or are concerned about the safety of your account. If you have responded to a phishing e-mail, you must change their account password and forward the phishing e-mail to our the Student Loans Company Security team at Phishing@slc.co.uk.

If you have an accident or a medical condition which means that you might be eligible for special assessment arrangements, such as additional writing time or rest breaks, you should seek advice from Student Disability Services in the first instance after the Easter closure and we will do out very best to help you.
