YiMovi Exhibition of Chinese Film and the Medical Humanities

Publication date:

Film exhibition poster

Peking University Medical Campus, 31 May – 2 June 2017

This event is the latest in our PKU-UCL Medical Humanities collaboration. It features three films that tackle major challenges in understanding disability in China. Each film will be introduced by the director and/or experts from the universities in film and healthcare. We will explore the visual cultures of sensory perception, and the self-help communities that have or haven’t grown up around those that are vulnerable. We will see how film is being mobilised to change public perceptions and focus the attention of policymakers and healthcare administrators, while crowd-sourcing funding to support the work of those dedicated to making a difference.
