Fully Funded PhD Studentships in Mycobacterial drug discovery

Dr Jonathan Cox, Lecturer in Microbiology and lead investigator of the Mycobacterial Research Group at Aston University has two, fully funded PhD studentships available with the application deadline of 12th January 2020.
One is part of the BBSRC-funded Midlands Integrative Biosciences Training Partnership
This PhD will investigate a new series of beta-lactamase inhibitors for development into the next generation of anti-mycobacterial antibiotics.
The other is through the EPSRC-funded Joint Centre for Doctoral Training in Engineered Tissues for Discovery, Industry and Medicine
This PhD will optimize and utilize a next-generation drug discovery platform to find new antibiotics active against latent tuberculosis.
