UCL Statistical Science and Centre for Data Science co-organize joint German/UK Big Data Meeting
7 March 2017
Professor Sofia Olhede, jointly with the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the Berlin Big Data Centre, organised a joint Germany/UK Big Data Meeting at the Smart Data Forum in Berlin on 1 March 2017. Professor Patrick Wolfe was also part of the delegation, and spoke of Big Network Data, and was further joined by UCL colleague Professor Harry Hemingway from the London Farr Institute, as well as colleagues from Imperial College London, and the Food Standards Agency. The Berlin Big Data Centre is part of a 30 million Euro investment by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research to support Industry 4.0, and the initiative established two centres for Big Data and IT security.
