Dr François-Xavier Briol awarded EPSRC New Investigator Award on ‘Transfer Learning for Monte Carlo

Congratulations to Dr Briol for his recent success in getting an EPSRC New Investigator Award on the topic of ‘Transfer Learning for Monte Carlo Methods’. The grant will support Dr Briol (PI) and a postdoctoral researcher under his supervision for a duration of three years whilst they study how techniques from machine learning can be used to enable scalable Bayesian computation for challenging scientific applications. This project will significantly expand an earlier project supported through an Amazon Research Award.
