AISTATS Best Paper Award for Jeremias Knoblauch and Francois-Xavier Briol

30 March 2022

Jeremias Knoblauch and Francois-Xavier Briol were recently awarded a Best Paper Award at AISTATS 2022 (The International Conference for Artificial Intelligence and Statistics) for their paper on “Robust Bayesian Inference for Simulator-based Models via the MMD Posterior Bootstrap”. This paper provides a new method for performing Bayesian inference in cases where the likelihood is not available. A key feature of the approach is its scalability due to an embarrassingly parallel implementation and the fact that it is provably robust to model misspecification.
