Transfer personal data outside the EEA

You are not allowed to send personal data to countries outside the EEA unless certain requirements are met. Read this guidance to find out how you can comply with GDPR. 

Before you start

If you’re unsure whether the country in question belongs to the EEA, you can check on www.gov.uk/eu-eea.

By personal data, we mean information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual. 

The restrictions do not apply to fully anonymised data. (this is data which cannot be used to identify individuals, even when combined with other information available to the recipient of the data.)
