Post-Graduate Conference: New Research in Language-Based Area Studies

The SSEES-led Centre for East European Language-Based Area Studies (CEELBAS) is a co-convenor of the inter-regional conference New Research in Language-Based Area Studies, taking place at the University of Manchester on 13-14 March 2014. 

The aim of the conference is to explore new avenues for researching the Arabic speaking world, China and Japan, and Eastern Europe and Russia; to encourage comparative studies of these regions and countries; to facilitate a cross-centre dialogue; and to offer a forum for postgraduates to present their work to peers.
