Biography:
Professor Drinot is a historian of Latin America, especially Peru. His research interests include the history of medicine and public health. Professor Drinot is the author of The Sexual Question: A History of Prostitution in Peru, 1850s-1950s (Cambridge, 2020) and has published on the history of suicide and, most recently, on psychiatric treatment in Peru.
Research Projects:
He is working on a biography of José Carlos Mariátegui, a Peruvian Marxist intellectual. A large part of his work focuses on the role that disability played in his life, thought, and political activism.
