Visual Thinking: Turning Landscape into Colour, a collaborative project between Dr Spike Bucklow, Onya McCausland, Dr. Ruth Siddall and Slade lecturer Jo Volley, is taking place at Camden Arts Centre, Arkwright Road, London NW3 6DG, from 3 March - 26 March 2014. 

There will be a series of open studios, talks, demonstrations and screenings of recordings of material processes. By the end of the month a series of brand new artists paints will be manufactured. See www.camdenartscentre.org and the project blog. This is part of the Materials Research Project.

Visual Thinking Open Studios
Saturdays, 8, 15 & 22 March 2014, 12.00 - 5.00pm
Over three Saturdays, the Artists’ Studio will be open for visitors to find out more about the processes involved in creating pigments.

Visual Thinking: On Fire
Tuesday 18 March 2014, 10.00am - 4.00pm
Dr. Spike Bucklow, Research Scientist at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, University of Cambridge and Onya McCausland will burn ochre in the Garden. Visitors are welcome to watch as this takes place.

Visual Thinking Talks
Wednesday 26 March 2014, 6.00 - 8.00pm
Paul Robinson discusses methods that Winsor & Newton adopted to achieve colour consistency in the 19th century; Jo Volley introduces the Materials Research Project at The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL; Onya McCausland marks the end of the project with an overview of the group's research, contributions and outcomes.
