Overview

The UCL Summer School offers university students and recent graduates from around the world the opportunity to study in the heart of London.

You can choose to study one or two modules in a range of subjects. Each module lasts three weeks and involves attending classes on our central London campus and independent study. The first session starts on 24 June 2024, and the second session on 15 July 2024.

You'll have the option to gain credit towards your degree and take part in social events and activities designed to ensure you make the most of your time in London.

Dedicated accommodation in central London is available, for an additional fee.

Who this course is for

You'll need to have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at your home institution, with a 2:1 (UK scale), GPA of 3.0-3.3/4.0 (US system) or equivalent.

The programme is also open to postgraduate students and recent graduates.

If you're a non-native English speaker you'll need to meet our language requirement.

Find out more about entry requirements on the Summer School website.

Teaching and structure

The summer school runs in June, July and August and is divided into two sessions, each spanning three weeks. You can choose to attend either session, or both, selecting one module per session.

You'll spend 3 to 4 hours in class each day, Monday to Friday. This time can include lectures, seminars, tutorials, class excursions and visits to places of interest around London, where possible.

You'll also need to complete around 100 hours of independent study over the three weeks.

All modules are taught by UCL academics, and many also feature guest speakers. The teaching style is interactive and class sizes are limited to encourage discussion and debate.

How you're assessed will depend on the module you're studying.
