ACCELERATE Expertise presents the a new date for its highly popular workshop, 'Introduction to Intellectual Property'
This half day online workshop will go through the basics of Intellectual Property (IP) knowledge from a researcher perspective and the support available at UCL. Participants will also learn why IP is important especially as they create value in their research.
WHEN: Weds 30th Sept 2020, 10:00-13:00.
WHERE: a link to the meeting space will be shared with registered participants the day before the workshop.
What to expect: The half-day interactive workshop will be very practical, with a number of reflective and interactive activities.
The workshop will help you to:
- find out more about the different types of IP that researchers may be involved with;
- evaluate how you use any IP that you create; and
- better consider how you collaborate with others with IP in mind.
By the end of the workshop, you'll be better able to:
- realise opportunities in translational research with knowledge of your own IP:
- share ideas and work with other partners, both internal to UCL or external; and
- follow a more open research approach
Who should attend? This workshop is aimed at UCL researchers who would like to increase their IP knowledge. Please note you must have a UCL email address in order to take part in this workshop. This is to allow access to certain UCL-specific software.
About the facilitator: Mario Moustras, CEO and Founder of Mazamo Coaching, is a talent development coach and facilitator who works with researchers and entrepreneurs. Before becoming a coach and trainer, he worked for the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). He has a PhD in Chemistry, and is a chartered scientist and Fellow of the RSC.
Mario has worked with scientists and engineers across government agencies, industry and universities. He has led teams through science-related programmes in higher education, enterprise partnerships (especially with small companies) and technology policy.
