The Dean's Prize supports overseas fee-paying students who have won a competitive scholarship to cover their stipend, by waiving the international fees.
The Dean’s Prize is available only to students wishing to pursue research degrees in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences or the Faculty of Mathematical & Physical Sciences.
Applications for the Dean's Prize must be submitted to your respective department by Friday, 17 January 2020 and must include the following information:
For Mathematical & Physical Sciences (MAPS) students
Short (1 page maximum) description of the proposed research project
CV of the candidate
Written confirmation by the relevant Head of Department that they support the submission and agree to the shortfall in their budget due to the waiver of fees
2 References – Reference number 1 should relate to your most recently completed university programme/degree (or the one you intend to complete, if applicable) and can be the same referee who submitted a reference as part of your admission application. Please use this
If your department is submitting more than one application, applications must be ranked in order of preference by Departmental Graduate Tutors before submission.

Important note for students intending to apply for China Scholarships Council funding
Successful candidates will be notified by email by 22 February 2020 of their award. An official funding letter will be provided which should be used to complete the CSC online application process before the CSC's deadline of 1 March 2020. If you do not hear from us by 22 February 2020, you may assume that your application was unsuccessful.
Successful CSC applicants can expect to be notified of their final award in May.
