Costing your proposal

Find information and useful links for support with costing your proposals.

    Costing a research proposal

Award Services provides useful information on how to cost your research proposal on their Key Tasks: Applying for funding page (step 6).

We also encourage you to speak with your Department's Research Support (Pre-Award) Officer if you require further support or advice regarding the preparation of a research application costing.

    LMIC costing

Working with Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) can incur higher administration and operational costs. Refer to the UCL LMIC Toolkit for more information.

    Costing an innovation proposal

Costing guidance is provided for each funding stream on the UCL Innovation & Enterprise Access funding page. Select the relevant scheme to view the funding scheme guide.

    Costing research data management

Most funders will ask you to estimate the costs associated with data management and sharing for your project. UCL Library Services provide useful information to help you anticipate and meet these costs.

    Horizon Europe funding

The Award Services European Research and Innovation Office (ERIO) team offer a dedicated Horizon Europe pre-award proposal support service to help UCL researchers coordinate collaborative proposals in any topic area.

    For advice on consultancy projects

UCL Consultants (UCLC) offer advice on consultancy projects for UCL researchers. Visit the UCLC Information for staff webpages to find out more.
