Mr. Michael Hynes

PhD Student

Michael graduated with an MPhys degree in Physics from Oxford University, before joining the CDT in Delivering Quantum Technologies at UCL. Having obtained his MRes degree in the CDT, he then joined the Quantum Devices Group for his PhD. Michael's project involves investigating the transport properties of InAs nanowires coupled to micromagnet arrays. The helical field of the micromagnets is expected to enhance spin-orbit interactions in the nanowires, with implications for the study of Majorana physics in these - and other low-dimensional - devices.
