Mr. Matthew Tam

Matthew graduated with an MEng degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from University College London, before joining the CDT in Delivering Quantum Technologies at UCL. Having obtained his MRes degree in the CDT, he then joined the Quantum Devices Group for his PhD. Matthew's project involves developing As spin qubits in silicon for quantum information processing applications. In particular Matthew is looking at ways to control and readout the electron spin states at sub-microsecond timescales using microwave control techniques and radio-frequency reflectometry readout. He is furthermore working to demonstrate the use of the dopant's nuclear spin states for long-term storage of quantum information, with the ultimate aim of creating an entangled network of spin qubits.
