Guidance for Medicine students
We are delighted to confirm that we can now offer places to all students who meet the terms of their original offer for Medicine to start this year, rather than deferring to 2021/22. This follows clarification from the UK Government that caps on Medicine programmes have been lifted for this academic year and additional clinical placements will be made available.
UCL’s priority is to be as fair as possible to all applicants, recognising that you have worked hard during unprecedented circumstances and deserve your first choice university and your preferred year of entry.
We are unable to accept students who have not met or exceeded the conditions of their UCL offer and the form to let us know of changes to your results is now closed. If you are interested in starting a new application for the 2021/22 academic year, please visit our webpages for prospective students.
We are working with UCAS to process regraded results and this may take some time. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. We know students and their parents / carers will wish to talk to us about this change, particularly those who currently hold Medicine places elsewhere for the 2020/21 academic year, or those who still wish to defer to 2021/22. We look forward to speaking to you during coming days to help you make the choice that is best for you.
We have received an unprecedented number of calls and emails over recent weeks and so please do bear with us while we answer. We understand applicants are anxious and that of course the stakes are high, but UCL will not tolerate abusive behaviour towards members of our Admissions team. We will end calls and email correspondence where this happens.
