Bahar Karimi is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre on US Politics (CUSP) at UCL. Her doctoral research at King’s College London focused on the examination of US policy decisions toward Iran in the lead up to the revolution, using a neoclassical realist framework to identify how threat perceptions shaped the decision-making process. Her research interests include US foreign policy toward the Middle East and Iran in particular; the lessons learned from previous US policies and how they can inform decisions today; and the effect of the organisation of institutional structures on the policy decision-making process.
