Lunch and Learn: Othering

Joined by Dr Kavita Maya, we explore these broad questions in the context of how certain narratives and discourses depict the portrayal of certain communities within politics, media and policy-making – and the ways in which this can serve to embed discrimination and the marginalisation of certain communities. We’ll also explore how we can identify such narratives within mainstream discourse, giving us the knowledge and metaphorical tools to critically deconstruct such discourses.
