Whichever party wins the next general election will face some of the most challenging circumstances since the Second World War. From sluggish growth to flatlining productivity. From an increasingly precarious healthcare system to the crises of adults and children social care. And from the existential threat of climate change to the urgent need for a just transition, our country’s challenges will only be overcome if we find a new way of governing together in deeper collaboration with, and respect for, communities outside of Westminster and Whitehall.

The next government will require the talents, expertise, and experience of individuals, institutions, and communities right across the country.

This conference will tap into the new currents in policy thinking about our method of governing itself, such as mission thinking, devolution of power, community empowerment, relational practice in public services and perhaps most importantly, the need for people of all backgrounds to feel they are treated by governments with respect.
