Background

With many years of experience in administration, I have worked with a variety of employers, including the NHS, Stroke Association, and Barnardos charities. During my time at Barnardos, I played an active role in the Equality and Diversity team, where I worked to raise awareness of the needs of the Deaf community. Additionally, I was the voluntary Chair of the Asian Deaf Women’s Association (now called DEWA), where I helped to provide support to Deaf Ethnicity Women in East London. I have also worked at Remark! as a support worker for Deaf clients and Sense as a communication guide for Usher and Deafblind clients. My educational background includes Business Administration, Customer Service, and BSL Level 3. I have a keen interest in psychology and Equality and Diversity.

Current Role

Since December 2022, I have been working as the Centre Administrator for DCAL. In this role, I provide administrative support to the DCAL team, act as the PA to DCAL’s Director, and provide full administrative support for DCAL’s courses. I work with UCL staff, both deaf and hearing, as well as students and members of the public. My responsibilities include managing the main office within DCAL, providing administrative support for the Director and Centre staff, organising and servicing DCAL meetings, responding to internal and external enquiries, providing reception facilities to Centre visitors, and assisting in the production of Centre outputs.
