Professor Peter Fonagy takes over as head of PALS

PALs would like to welcome Professor Peter Fonagy as our new Head of Division. 

Peter Fonagy completed a PhD in experimental psychology in University College London and has worked in UCL in various capacities since 1977. Peter is currently a Professor of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Developmental Science, Chief Executive of the Anna Freud Centre, a training and supervising analyst in the British Psycho-Analytical Society in child and adult analysis, a Fellow of the British Academy, the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Academy of Social Sciences.

Peter worked hard to establish clinical psychology in UCL and, with colleagues, succeeded in creating a globally exceptional applied psychology department. 

After acting as Director to the Psychology sub department of Clinical Psychology Peter was appointed Head of the newly formed Clinical, Education and Health Psychology research department in 2008.

Peter looks forward to working with everyone in PALS as the new Head of Division:
