modules2

In induction week you will meet with the Programme Director to discuss the Theoretical Frameworks component and appropriate module selection and how to tailor your selection to any specific research interests you have.

Resources such as your programme website, Module Database are useful in getting an idea of the requirements and content of individual modules. From early september Module Information Sheets for each module (PASLG & PLING only), which provide more detail on content, assessment, feedback and objectives will be available online (linked here).

MRes Speech, Languge and Cognition students do not officially enrol onto these modules the way that taught postgraduate students do, as they are not directly assessed in the module.  Students attend two optional modules per term and complete an inter-disciplinary piece of work which covers and draws together aspects of both modules. So module selections are made by agreement between student, Programme Director and individual module coordinators rather than the module selection system used by taught students.

Module selections are often unusual and specified to a particular research interest.  For this reason, while you are encouraged to research potential modules, you are asked to refrain from contacting Module Coordinators until after enrolment and meeting with the Programme Director to discuss your research aims.
