David completed an intercalated degree in Medical Physics and Bioengineering at UCL before graduating from the University of Glasgow Medical School. After completing Foundation Years training, David left full-time clinical medicine for scientific pursuits, namely a Masters in Computing Science at Imperial College followed by a PhD in hyperpolarized noble gas MRI at the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre, University of Nottingham, and finally a GlaxoSmithKline funded research fellowship in MRI at the University of Edinburgh. During this time David was involved in developing new imaging biomarkers for a range of human diseases and has several publications within the field. David has since returned to training in Clinical Radiology bringing together his clinical and academic work in the field of Molecular Imaging.
