Intersectionality focus groups

11 May 2016

UCL is taking a lead in the sector in investigating the impact of

Quad summer ecu.ac.uk/equality-charters/athena-swan/athena-swan-faqs/intersectionality/">intersectionality - recognising that people's identities and social positions are shaped by several factors, which create unique experiences and perspectives in the workplace.

We have observed differences in satisfaction levels within groups in UCL's recent staff survey data and are seeking to understand more about this to inform future Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) work.

To this end we are running a number of focus groups, looking at e.g. the particular experiences of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women. If you are a BME woman, a Disabled woman or a Lesbian or Bisexual woman (or a combination of these characteristics) who would be interested in taking part in this project we'd love to hear from you. We are also interested in hearing from men who consider that intersectionality impacts on their experiences in the workplace.

The date for the focus groups is Friday 8 July, though more may be arranged subject to demand.

For more information and to register an interest please contact equalities@ucl.ac.uk with your name, job title and some information about how intersectionality affects you.
