The Royal Navy wants robot squid and other ‘bio-inspired’ deep-sea weapons to fight future wars

“It is difficult to replicate the motions of soft-bodied organisms," commented Dr Thomas George-Thuruthel (UCL Computer Science) who explained the challenge in producing a “HMS Tentacles” due to the difficulty in robotically replicating the behaviour of sea creatures.
