Pollution 'awakens' mutant cells that cause lung cancer

Air pollution causes lung cancer by "waking up" dormant mutant cells that grow into tumours, a new study co-led by Professor Charles Swanton (UCL Cancer Institute) and researchers at the Francis Crick Institute has discovered.
