Arctic sea ice hits annual low, but it’s not as low as recent years

Sea ice in the Arctic Ocean has shrunk to its smallest extent this year, but it is no a record low, as older sea blown into warmer seas “toughed it out to the end”, says PhD researcher Robbie Mallett (UCL Earth Sciences).
