Can countries earn money from keeping rainforests intact?

Attempts by Gabon to have other countries pay for the continued existence of its rainforest probably won’t work, as current regulations mean “Gabon can’t be paid for the forest just standing there and doing what a forest does,” says Professor Mark Maslin (UCL Geography).
