Covid-19 variant not expected to reduce vaccine efficacy

While the ‘South African variant’ of Covid-19 has a mutation which reduces antibody recognition, it is not anticipated that this mutation will be enough for the variant to bypass vaccine protection, says Professor Francois Balloux (UCL Genetics Institute).
