Scientists probe variant link with untreated HIV

It has been shown that “mutations can emerge within the one infected individual" if they have a constant infection like HIV, but at this stage it is “premature” to say that this is the cause of Covid mutations, says Professor Deenan Pillay (UCL Infection & Immunity).
