What is Alzheimer’s disease?

Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia, with a build-up of amyloid causing memory loss, and the disease can have a silent period of around 20 years before any symptoms present themselves, says Professor Nick Fox (UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology).
