Why birds survived and dinosaurs went extinct after an asteroid hit earth

A recent study co-led by Dr Ryan Felice (UCL Cell & Developmental Biology) found that bird evolution slowed down after the dinosaurs went extinct, and that beaks and the ability to eat a varied diet would have helped birds adapt to new challenges.
