Lockdown ease could lead to tens of thousands of excess deaths unless vulnerable are protected

The death risk among those with conditions such as heart disease is five times higher than in people without underlying conditions and easing the lockdown must take this into account, says new research led by Dr Amitava Banerjee (UCL Institute of Health Informatics).
