Remembering Professor Geoffrey Burnstock

Overcoming prejudice and class elitism, Professor Geoffrey Burnstock (UCL Biosciences) played guitar, used condoms to study the gut movements of fish, developed the hotly contested ‘purinenergic hypothesis’ and headed the anatomy and embryology department at UCL for 22 years.
