Disposable face masks could create mountain of contaminated waste

Professor Mark Miodownik (UCL Mechanical Engineering) explains how if people in the UK used a single-use mask each day for a year, it would not only create up to 66,000 tonnes of contaminated waste, but people handling the waste would also face a high risk of infection.
